Today, I’d like to ask you something a mentor of mine asks me almost every single week: Are you “winning” right now?

Sometimes, answering this question in the moment can be difficult to do. It often takes the lens of retrospection to understand whether we’re truly doing well or not in our lives and careers.

That said, there is one way to make sure you can consistently answer “yes” to this question: You’ve got to be proactive. To “win” the year, you’ve got to win the month. To win the month, you’ve got to win the week. And to win the week (you guessed it), you’ve got to win the day.

When you win each day, you can win each year.

What does “winning” the day, week, month, or year mean, though? Actually, it all comes down to setting and meeting clear goals on a consistent basis. As we head towards the end of the year, there are five kinds of goals I’d like to challenge you to set.

1. Spiritual goals. These should bring you closer to living as the person you were created to be.

2. Relationship goals. These should bring you closer to the people in your life.

3. Financial goals. These should bring you closer to reaching fiscal stability.

4. Educational goals. These should help you grow intellectually.

5. Health goals. These should bring you closer to being in the best possible shape.

Setting goals in each of these categories on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis is the key to winning in life. When you win each day, you can win each year.

If you have any other questions or would like more information, feel free to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
